Responsible area on operation and maintenance divided into 14 projects comprises:

10 Operation and Maintenance Projects are responsible for water allocation, operation and maintenance and improvement of irrigation system in project areas, covering irrigated area of 2.43 million rai.

          •  Manorom Operation and Maintenance Project, located at Wat Khok sub-district, Manorom district, Chainat province

          •  Chong Khae Operation and Maintenance Project, located at Prom Nimit sub-district, Takeli district, Nakhon Sawan province

          •  Khok Kathiam Operation and Maintenance Project, located at Khao Phra Ngam sub-district, Muang district, Lopburi province

          •  Roeng Rang Operation and Maintenance Project, located at Srang Sok sub-district, Ban Mo district, Saraburi province

          •  Maharaj Operation and Maintenance Project, located at Muang Moo sub-district, Muang district, Singburi province

          •  Khlong Phieo–Sao Hai Operation and Maintenance Project, located at Pak Phieo sub-district, Muang district, Saraburi province

          •  South Pasak Operation and Maintenance Project, located at Tha Luang sub-district, Tha rua district, Ayutthaya province

          •  Nakhon Luang Operation and Maintenance Project, located at Lam Sai sub-district, Wang Noi district, Ayutthaya province

          •  Pasak Jolasid Dam Operation and Maintenance Project, located at Nong Bua sub-district, Phatthana Nikhom district, Lopburi province

          •  Bang Ban Operation and Maintenance Project, located at Ban Pom sub-district, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya district, Ayutthaya province

4 Provincial Irrigation Offices covering total irrigated area of 13.80 million rai.

          •  Phetchabun Irrigation Office , located at Pa Lao sub-district, Muang district, Phetchabun province

          •  Lopburi Irrigation Office , located at Khao Phra Ngam sub-district, Muang district, Lopburi province

          •  Saraburi Irrigation Office , located at Pak Phieo sub-district, Muang district, Saraburi province

          •  Ayutthaya Irrigation Office , located at Hantra sub-district, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya district, Ayutthaya province

1 Construction Project under Regional Irrigation Office 10 is responsible for construction work:

          Construction Project 10 is located at headwork of Pasak Jolasid Dam, Nong Bua sub-district, Phatthana Nikhom district, Lopburi province and is responsible for formulating plan; considering and undertaking preliminary study on engineering of small scale irrigation project and special project which construction of the projects must be completed within one year and without land acquisition; planning work plan; following up and investigating implementation progress with schedules; evaluating analyzed works under standards and technical principles; promoting people participation; and clarifying public complaints and recommendations.

          Besides there are divisions under central office of Royal Irrigation Department to work at Regional Irrigation Office 10 e.g. Machinery Operation Center 5, Ground Survey Branch 10, Central Region Boundary Survey Branch and Land Procurement Branch 10.

          Regional Irrigation Office 10 has missions on water management; operation and maintenance; improvement; development of small and medium scales water resources as well as special project; construction of on-farm system; flood prevention in project area including conduction of preliminary study on medium scale water resources development project of Regional Irrigation Office 10, with total responsible area of 16.23 million rai. By the most area of 16.08 million rai is located at Pasak river basin area and left bank or east bank of Chao Phraya River, and the other area of 0.15 million rai is located in right bank or west bank in Bang Ban Operation and Maintenance Project. It covers 3 provinces: Petchabun, Lopburi and Saraburi; and some parts in 5 provinces: Nakhon Sawan, Chainat, Singburi, Ang Thong and Ayutthaya. Such area is divided into 2 parts as follows:

          - Project Area is the area having water distribution, drainage, flood prevention systems, irrigation and feeder roads both in operation and maintenance projects and provincial irrigation projects covering area approximately 2.88 million rai, being irrigated area or command area of 2.27 million rai. The area of 10 operation and maintenance projects totals 2.11 million rai and the area of 3 provincial irrigation projects totals 0.16 million rai.

          - Outsides Project Area is approximately 13.35 million rai being responsible area of 4 provincial irrigation projects.

 

2 Major Water Resources

          1. Chao Phraya River is a major water resource as well as Bhumibol Dam Reservoir with capacity of 13,422 mcm., Sirikit Dam Reservoir with capacity of 9,510 mcm. By Chao Phraya Barrage located in Sappraya district, Chainat province, serving as a diversion for 2 main canals as follows:

                    1.1 Chainat - Ayutthaya Main Canal has a length approximately 120 kilometers and the water flows through regulator in front of Chao Phraya Barrage with the maximum inflow of 65 m 3 /s and the tail of canal located in Ayutthaya district, Ayutthaya province. It serves to supply water for Maharaj Operation and Maintenance Project, approximately 404,660 rai.

                    1.2 Chainat - Pasak Main Canal has a length approximately 132 kilometers and the water flows through Manorom regulator at Manorom district, Chainat province with the maximum inflow of 210 m 3 /s, and then the water is delivered to upper projects e.g. Manorom, Chong Khae, Khok Kathiam and Roeng Rang Operation and Maintenance Projects. The total area is 774,000 rai, besides it delivers water through Roeng Rang Regulator to Pasak River in front of Rama VI Barrage in Tha Rua district, Ayutthaya province, in order to assist the lower project area. In addition, there are 12 permanent pumping stations which directly pump water from Chao Phraya River and its tributaries to supply water for Bang Ban Operation and Maintenance Project which its area is in right bank or west bank of Chao Phraya River, approximately 130,810 rai.

          2. Pasak River. Having Pasak Jolasid Dam Reservoir is water resource, located in Phatthana Nikhom district, Lopburi province and Wang Muang district, Saraburi province with the maximum capacity of 960 mcm. including irrigation systems which were constructed for 4 projects e.g. Phatthana Nikhom Pumping Project, Phattana Nikhom – Kaeng Khoi Project, Kaeng Khoi – Ban Mo Pumping Project, with total irrigation area of 144,500 rai. As well as Water Supply Project for Agriculture in Lopburi province that pumps water using pipeline from Pasak Jolasid Dam Reservoir can distribute water for areas in Khok Samrong, Sra Bot, Khok Charoen districts in Lopburi province, approximately 30,000 rai. Besides, having drainage of water to existing canal by diversion of Rama VI Barrage at Tha Luang sub-district, Tha Rua disitrict, Ayutthaya province, to Raphiphat Canal, with the maximum inflow of 210 m 3 /s, including water from Chao Phraya River which flows through Chainat - Pasak Main Canal, can distribute the water for all lower project areas e.g. South Pasak Operation and Maintenance Project and Nakhon Luang, approximately 424,000 rai as well as 4 Operation and Maintenance Projects under Regional Irrigation Office 11, total area of 1,508,600 rai, namely; North Rangsit, South Rangsit, Khlong Dan and Phra Ong Chaiyanuchit Operation and Maintenance Projects. Raphiphat Canal having a length of 32 kilometers until Nong Khae district, Saraburi province, was divided into 2 distributary canals that are West and South Raphiphat having lengths of 32 kilometers and 30 kilometers, respectively.

          Furthermore, there is Sao - Hai Pumping Station that pumps water from Pasak River and Khlong Phieo Regulator serving as diversion in Khlong Phieo – a distributary canal of Pasak River, in order to supply water for Khlong Phieo - Sao Hai Operation and Maintenance Project with the area of 135,300 rai.
